So, Christmas happened and Mr. Gold gave us a half eaten chocolate bar as a present (by which I mean we have yet to listen to a closing theme or something featuring the middle eight)

I was curious to try and imagine what the latest variation of the theme would sound like without any extraneous sound effects, and I find it interesting to hear just how sparse it is, yet how raw and driving it is, particularly with the drums taking a more active role than in previous Gold themes. I’m a little miffed with how the melody line turned out, the pitch bend synth always seems to overpower the main synth a little when I export. I hope to remedy this if I decide to make this mix follow more traditional aspects of the DW theme, such as reincluding the two layer bassline. I miss that bassline.
